PUNE: Train services on the Pune-Lonavla section of the Central Railway were disrupted for about 45 minutes on Wednesday morning following a flash strike by station masters of different stations, who stopped work after one of their colleagues was assaulted by goons at Pimpri railway station. PUNE: A river cleaning initiative, jointly undertaken by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Irrigation Department, has been launched for the past one week. It will continue till the arrival of monsoon. Additional city engineer Vivek Kharwadkar said it is for the first time that the PMC has taken up such a joint project with the Irrigation Department.

PUNE: Around 1.55 lakh people have taken the benefit of the 10-pc rebate in general tax over the past 45 days by paying up their taxes before the deadline of May 31. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected Rs 101 crore in 45 days. The civic body had urged people to avail of the rebate scheme. The rebate is offered to those who pay up their property tax by May 31.
