LONDON : Spanish curators claim the 'Mona Lisa' at the Prado in Madrid was executed by an artist in Leonardo da Vinci's workshop at the same time as the original.   It is the first known copy of the most famous painting in history, and a discovery that curators at Spain's national art museum believe sheds new light on the creation of the masterpiece, The Independent reported Thursday.

ISLAMABAD/LONDON : Pakistani security agencies are helping the Taliban in Afghanistan and Islamabad knows the location of senior Taliban leaders, BBC reported Wednesday citing a secret NATO report. Islamabad has rejected the accusations.   The report, prepared from thousands of interrogations, says the Taliban have wide support among the Afghan people. It alleges that Pakistan knows the locations of senior Taliban leaders.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's former envoy to the US Husain Haqqani today left for the US after the Supreme Court eased travel restrictions that were imposed on him after he was implicated in the memo scandal.   Haqqani travelled from the Prime Minister's House, where he was living for the past few weeks, to the international airport in Rawalpindi along with a large security detail early this morning.

ISLAMABAD : At least three people were killed and eight others injured Monday in a suicide blast in Pakistan's Peshawar city, media reports said.   Citing Urdu TV channel Dunya, Xinhua said the blast hit a police check-post.   However, Geo News said the explosion took place in Pakha Ghulam area at an under-construction house belonging to the leader of banned organisation Ansar-ul-Islam.

WASHINGTON: Twitter has announced that it can now selectively censor tweets on a country-by-country basis, a move which may augur well for India which reportedly urged social media websites to remove offensive contents.   In its blog post, titled 'Tweets Must Flow', the San Fransico-based micro-blogging company has said that it could "reactively withhold content from users in a specific country" if legally required to do so.
