BANGALORE : Tamil actress Ranjitha, whose alleged sleaze acts with self-styled godman Nityananda triggered off a public outcry has denied any sexual relations with him and termed the video footage aired by television channels as "morphed".   In her statement to Bangalore CID, probing the case, Ranjitha rejected charges of sexual harassment by Nityananda and said the woman shown on the video was not her. She denied any sexual relations with Nityananda and said that she had "only visited Nityananda's room once or twice", CID sources told PTI.   On the video footage aired by regional TV channels, purportedly showing her in a compromising position with Nityananda, Ranjitha said "the entire video is morphed". The sources said the forensic science laboratory's analysis of the tapes has, however, concluded it was not morphed, "indicating that Ranjitha is not coming out with the truth".

BENGALURU: Controversial godman Nityanand Swami has begun to hold discourses after the High Court   permitted him to teach and preach his devotees.   His supporters indicated that Nityanand will go on a preaching tour in the south.   The court had barred him from preaching as part of the conditions imposed by it when he was released last month.   However, following an appeal by the tainted godman, the court relaxed his bail conditions. His supporters celebrated the court’s directions with special prayers.   “If the petitioner is prevented from preaching, it prevents his freedom of speech. Such a condition may not be justified for a long time,” said Justice Subash Adi. Nityanand has also been asked by the court to present himself once a month and not every 15 days as stipulated earlier.

BANGALORE: Seven weeks after his arrest, self-styled godman Nityananda Swami, facing rape and other criminal charges, is all set to walk free with the High Court today granting him conditional bail.   32-year-old Nityananda had eluded police after a TV channel telecast in March purported video footage of him in a compromising position with a Tamil actress. He was arrested by the CID in Solan district in Himachal Pradesh on April 21 and lodged in the Ramanagara jail here since then.   Allowing his bail plea, Justice B Adi, however, restrained Nityananda from spiritual preaching, saying hurting people's feelings is "worse than a stab injury". The court said "the video footage has hurt the feelings of people. Hurting peoples' feelings is worse than a stab injury".   "Nityananda has fallen short of his image as a spiritual head, a sanyasi and a guru who should be free from all attachments and should have strong determination and courage", the judge said.
