PUNE: The Bombay High Court last Wednesday directed the state government to submit its say on action against top officials including then Pune Municipal Commissioner Nitin Karir in Transferable Development Rights (TDR) scam in Kondhwa and Kothrud.

The High Court had also given orders to file criminal cases against six officers, the action which has been already approved by PMC. Nagari Chetana Manch, ex-chairman of standing committee Shyam Deshpande had moved separate public interest litigation on the issue.

Applicants argued that PMC had approved action against small fishes in the scam while top officials who allegedly masterminded the scam were being shielded. Action on six officers is an attempt to save top officials, petitioners alleged. On this, the HC asked the state government to submit its say.
