PUNE: Retired IPS officer Suresh Khopade will be the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.
Khopade hails from Morgaon in Baramati. He will contest the Lok Sabha elections against sitting Nationalist Congress Party's MP Supriya Sule and Mahadev Jankar of the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSP) backed by Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party.
Khopde is a former IPS officer and is known to have successfully implemented the Moholla Committee experiment in Bhiwandi.
The AAP also declared a new list of candidates for the State. Jallauddin Ansari will contest from Bhiwandi while Sudhir Surve will contest from Buldhana seat.
Ansari Nihal has bagged the ticket from Dhule while farmer leader Raghunath Patil has got a ticket from Hatakanangale in the Kolhapur district.
Savita Shinde will contest from Madha while Satish Jain will be the candidate from Mumbai North.
The party has decided to give ticket to Narendra Singh Granthi in Nanded and to Vikram Salave in Osmanabad. Salma Kulkarni will contest from Parbhani.
