PUNE: Sakal Media Group managing director Abhijit Pawar, on Saturday, urged students to develop an attitude of knowledge-sharing to climb up the ladder of success.
“Be generous and willing to share what you know with others. This attitude of sharing will take you to the top of the ladder of success,” he said.
Pawar was speaking as chief guest at a mentorship programme organised by Katalyst, a non-profit initiative under the aegis of Third Sector Partners and Hunt Partners which aims to empower girls from underprivileged backgrounds, at the College of Engineering Pune (CoEP).
Addressing the group of beneficiaries of Katalyst programme, he said anyone who could teach directly or indirectly should be deemed as a mentor in an individual's life.
“Whenever you meet somebody, learn relevant things from that person. Ability to read people around you and to be able to relate with them are two qualities that will build you,” he said.
Citing several examples of successful persons who have overcome all odds in their lives, Pawar told the students not to get bogged down if they face hurdles like humble economic background or poor communication skills in English.
“Have confidence, right attitude and enjoy your work. Success will surely come to you,” he said.
Kirloskar Brothers Ltd GM (business) Nishikant Ingale, engineer with IMB India's software lab Shweta Gupta and programme associate with Katalyst Phanipriya Nandula also expressed their views on theme of the event.
CoEP director A D Sahasrabudhe and programme director with Katalyst Anjali Hari were also present.
