Show organised in city on May 1 to promote sports among the younger generation
PUNE: Renowned aero-modellers from all over the State will come to the city to be a part of a spectacular aero-modelling and paramotoring show being organised at SP College Grounds on May 1, between 8 and 11 am.
The show is being organised by the Young Republic of India Club of Sakal Media Group, in association with the Rotary Club of Pune Hillside, to promote aero-modelling among the young generation. Being organised in memory of the veteran aero-modeller late, Ashok Bhole, the show will witness participation of aero-modellers from all over the State.
Besides watching the spectacular display, spectators can also purchase models and register for a special YRI hobby class in aero-modelling, which will be organised during the summer vacations.
Participants of the show will include Yogendra Jahagirdar of Ahmednagar, the only flyer who has successfully done a cross country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He will display banner towing, flower dropping and balloon blasting during the show. Rajesh Joshi of Nagpur, holds the Limca record for making the country's biggest radio-controlled engine power model and has a big collection of models. He will thrill the audience with models, which can be flown without an engine and ones that are propelled with a catapult. He will be joined by Fully Buxi from Nagpur.
Hemant Tehlan and Sunil Patil will fly the RC chopper/helicopter, while Eric Menzes, who is known as the flying man, will demonstrate paramotoring, which will mark the inauguration of the show.
In addition, Vivek Mohindra, Dinesh Gole, Aga and Baljeet will also be seen in action during the free show, which will begins at 8 am. Spectators have been asked to come to the venue before time and also carry caps and water bottles.
