Band appeals for peaceful festivals

PUNE: Divisional Commissioner Dilip Band has appealed to citizens to celebrate Ganeshotsav and Id in a peaceful manner. Band has said that since both the festivals are on Saturday, citizens must celebrate these festivals happily. Ganesh mandals must celebrate Ganesh festival in an eco-friendly manner, he added. He called upon the mandals to ensure that some members from their Ganesh mandals must be present near the Ganesha idols round-the-clock. He has further appealed that members of the Ganesh mandals must not put up any posters to disturb the law and order situation. These members must be in constant touch with the control rooms 24 / 7. Band appealed to citizens that they should use the alternative tanks that are prepared by Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Village Council for immersion of Ganesha idols. |
