Fourth edition has 25 categories of performing events and 750 students
PUNE: “Today's youth has lost the joy of art and culture, due to stressful lifestyle,” asserted actor Madhav Vaze.
He added, “They can hardly spend time to foster their likes for the arts. Doesn’t matter whether one is a winner or loser in the competition, participation is important.”
He was speaking at the inauguration of Bharati Vidyapeeth's fourth youth festival inaugurated by Kathak exponent Manisha Sathe. Bharati Vidyapeeth's former vice-chancellor S F Patil, Chairman Colleges and Development Council P S Bulakh, Director School of Performing Arts Sharangdhar Sathe, Mukund Sarada and Nitin Nayak shared the dais on this occasion.
Vaze further said that due to the malpractice of match-fixing, the art hidden in a sport is also being sold.
“A real artist should not make a market of his art.” Manisha Sathe advised the students to be self-critical, while achieving success in any field.
Around 750 students from Navi Mumbai, Delhi, Karad, Sangli, Solapur and Satara are participating in 25 events in this performing arts competition.
