Godrej introduces special TV for the gamers

PUNE: Home appliances major Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd announced the launch of its 'Game LCD Television' with motion-sensing technology, unveiling a whole range of new gaming experiences through television.

 

Announcing the development here on Tuesday, Company's Vice-President (Sales and Marketing), Appliance Division, Kamal Nandi said the game LCD TV from Godrej Appliances combines the features of an interactive gaming console along with an LCD TV, introducing this technology for the first time in India. The game TV boasts of a huge variety of 25 preloaded games.

 

The joystick's unique gyroscopic motion sensor allows you to swing a racket, throw darts, bowl down an alley right inside one's own living room. Besides, the television also allows loading of extra games through SD card or USB, he added.

 

When asked about the number of outlets in the State, he said, “In Maharashtra (other than Mumbai), the company has around 600 outlets, which would be increased to 1,200 by the end of the year.”

 

Adding further, the company's Production Group Head (Consumer Electronics) Shivaji Sengupta said the 25 games are in-built.  As part of the promotional campaign, the company would install some of these 'Game LCD TV' in eateries and corporate offices, apart from having roadshows.

 

Sengupta said the game television is equipped with a 2.4 GHz wireless joystick for trouble-free sync between joystick and the television. There is also a HD multimedia interface (HDMI X2) providing high-quality pictures and videos through a broader range of external multimedia devices.  At present, only one model of the TV has been launched. However, by the year-end, there would be a series of the Game LCD TVs in varying sizes, he added.

The Game LCD TV Godrej Eon LCD 32-inch has been priced at market rate price (MRP) Rs 40,000. To install a separate Game Console on an existing LCD would cost MRP Rs 22,490, apart from Rs 1,000 charged on each additional game.
