India's first underground robot-assisted parking will come up in Mumbai by March 2012. Real estate developer Ackruti City Limited (ACL) is introducing India’s first multilevel underground robotic car park system at two of their commercial building projects, Ackruti Star and Ackruti Solaris in Andheri East, at a combined car park space for over 1,100 cars.

Ackruti Star is a commercial building with a multilevel underground robotic car park system, covering an area of 1.5 lakh sq feet, having parking space for over 350 cars. Parking or retrieval of the vehicle is quick and hassle-free and takes less than a minute compared to other car parking facilities, where it  takes nearly five minutes to park or retrieve the vehicle. The first phase is expected to be complete in a  couple of week's time.

The second project at Ackruti Solaris is also a multilevel underground robotic car park system covering an area of five lakh sq feet, having parking space for over 750 cars. The first phase of this project with one-third capacity will be completed by March 2011, second phase by December 2011 and last phase  by March 2012.

Car-owners have a security swipe card that ensures absolute security from car thefts.

The entire system is backed by two substations to ensure hundred per cent power backup. It will be fully automated with no human interference.

Talking about the state-of-the-art robotic car park system, Hemant Shah, Chairman, Ackruti City said, “We are constantly striving at innovating and enhancing customer satisfaction in all our projects. Ackruti Star and Ackruti Solaris underground robotic car park system is an extension of this belief.

With the launch of both these projects, we hope to provide some solace to the parking woes of people visiting the area. We plan to install such innovative systems in our forthcoming projects across the country as well.”
