PUNE: City-based wellness company EnSigns Health Care launched Lupin flour and Diet flour, which they claim are rich in protein and dietary fibre.

EnSigns Health Care Director Madhu Nair said, “EnSigns has signed an MoU with Australia-based company Irwin Valley to launch Lupin Flour in India, while the Diet Flour, under the brand name ‘Sweetos’, has been formulated by the company itself, containing Lupin flour and flaxseed.”

He further said that major lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and Omega-3 deficiency are related to unhealthy flour, sugar and salt. “Our flour has high levels of dietary fibre, protein, Omega-3 fatty acid, low carbohydrate and sugar. It can replace flour being used for chapati, roti or baked products,” he added.

Irwin Valley's CEO Rory Coffey, who also spoke on the occasion, highlighted the significant implications of Lupin grains widely cultivated in Australia, in case of increasing incidents of obesity and associated risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research's  National Agricultural Innovation Project, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth and Bharatiya Agro Industrial Foundation are the consortium partners of EnSigns.
