The power packed Monsoon War, an exciting competition held amidst a lot of cheering from the members of four participating clubs, saw City Pride Hurricanes emerging as the winners. The inter-club fitness event organised by Endurance Fitness Club concluded at its E square club today. This is a widely popular event having run successfully for seven years now. This competition tests its members on various counts such as cardio vascular endurance, muscular skeletal strength, muscular skeletal endurance , flexibility, and general fitness levels.
This month long competition saw members from its four clubs located at E square, Wanowrie, City Pride Kothrud and Viman Nagar competing with each other, on events like the longest duration on elyptical trainer, longest duration on treadmill and longest duration on an upright bike. The competition also had free weight exercises, squats, chest press, lat pulldown, and push ups. The list of semi finalists had one team each from the four clubs namely E Square Tornadoes, City Pride Hurricanes, Wanowrie Thunderbirds and Viman Nagar Hurricanes.
Janaki Jathar who was adjudged the 'woman of the match', said that the trainer motivation here is very strong and they take personal care to ensure high level. The prizes consisted of gift hampers from Ultimate Nutrition, lunch and movie coupons,and gifts sponsored by Lifestyle. During this event, two return tickets to Bangkok, courtesy Jet Airways, were also gifted through a lucky draw.
Nikhil Agarwal, director operations said "At Endurance we lay a lot of emphasis on bonding between members and social networking and such events provide an ideal platform for these, through a spirit of healthy competition." The conclusion of the event was marked by the much awaited inter-club dance competition which had a mix of hip hop and Bollywood numbers. The City Pride team won this competition. This event had a special significance this year since the spirit of fun and celebrations continued as Endurance, celebrates its 10th anniversary on the September 8.
