While we were talking to singer Kunal Ganjawala recently, he suddenly dropped a bombshell: “My wife (singer Gayatri Iyer) and I have a couple of films lined up as music directors,” he revealed without much ado. Kunal further specified that: “It’s not for music albums but for films.”

This was indeed news coming from the playback singer who has sung superhit songs like Bheege Honth Tere from Murder and the recent Nanachi Taang from the forthcoming Khatta Meetha.  

Kunal further said, “We have written many tunes and finally we have taken this step. I have dropped some of the melodies that are in my head and have come up with something new.”

A confident Kunal asserted, “I feel that after having sung for Anu Malik, A R Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, Pritam, Ram Sampat, Vishal-Shekhar, Shankar Eshaan Loy, Sandesh and many more, now I want to sing the stuff that’s growing inside me.”

 One guesses Kunal is following in the footsteps of such stalwarts as Hemant Kumar, S D Burman and R D Burman, who were all accomplished singers as well as gifted music directors.
