BENGALURU: Controversial godman Nityanand Swami has begun to hold discourses after the High Court permitted him to teach and preach his devotees.
His supporters indicated that Nityanand will go on a preaching tour in the south.
The court had barred him from preaching as part of the conditions imposed by it when he was released last month.
However, following an appeal by the tainted godman, the court relaxed his bail conditions. His supporters celebrated the court’s directions with special prayers.
“If the petitioner is prevented from preaching, it prevents his freedom of speech. Such a condition may not be justified for a long time,” said Justice Subash Adi. Nityanand has also been asked by the court to present himself once a month and not every 15 days as stipulated earlier.
