In the first-of-its-kind initiative in the city, a special ‘CleanTech Entrepreneur Workshop’ was organised last weekend, where entrepreneurs from all across the country presented their innovative concepts in the field of clean technology.

Jointly organised by the ‘PuneCleanTech’ and New Ventures India (NVI) with support from MCCIA, FusionTech Ventures and Grubshup, the event saw over 14 entrepreneurs presenting their concepts before a select and serious audience of investors, mentors and service providers. 

Pune-based Harshad Nanal and Anil Paranjape have been instrumental in the formation of ‘PuneCleanTech’ and the New Ventures India (NVI) is a joint initiative of CII-Godrej Green Business Centre (CIIGBC) and World Resources Institute (WRI) in Washington DC.

Commenting on the concept of the forum Anil Paranjape, co-founder of ‘PuneCleanTech’ said, “This forum has been formed with an intention to bring likeminded people together, so that necessary support can be provided to the efforts being undertaken in the areas of clean technology. We are indeed very happy to have received overwhelming response from the players in clean technology and from investors, with some of the leading names attending for evaluating investment potential.”

Some of the interesting concepts presented at the workshop included solar-power milk chiller (solar refrigeration for off-grid and rural applications), a hybrid small wind turbine that can take care of small family’s electricity needs, concept to harness the power from the wind at high altitude, an efficient system to manage effluent treatment plant, eco-friendly and efficient industrial component cleaning system, equipments and systems for energy saving to name a few.
