MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who has been on the firing line of the Shiv Sena, for taking up the cause of Pakistani players excluded during IPL-III auctions, is running in for more trouble. The Bal Thackeray-led party on Tuesday made it clear that the actor would have to “apologise”, else his films would not be allowed to be released in Mumbai.
Karan Johar-directed film 'My Name is Khan', in which SRK plays the lead role, is to be released on February 12. Khan, who is in New York, has said that he would not aplogise for what he has said. “It is not an attack on property, but on liberty,” SRK reportedly said, reffering to Sunday's demonstrations outside his Bandra bungalow.
However, in Mumbai, senior Sena leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi issued a stern warning to Shah Rukh Khan. ''Whether it is Shah Rukh or anyone else, the Shiv Sena says the actor must take back his comments, so he'll have to do it. It's better if he understands this well. Shahrukh will have to apologise or else we will not let his film release in Mumbai,'' said Joshi, a former Maharashtra Chief Minister.
