Film on solar energy tops UGC competition

PUNE: 'Solar Energy - An Awakening', a short film made by Prof G N Kulkarni has bagged the 'Best Educational Programme of the year' award in 20th UGC - CEC Educational Video Competition 2008. He shares the award with Supriya Sakamuri who has made a film on global worming. Prof Kulkarni, in association with Pune based film production house has produced the 26-minute documentary in English as well as Marathi. "Our film is made with a purpose of spreading awareness amongst the masses about solar energy and how it can be used as a sustainable option," said Kulkarni, who works as an associate professor in College of Engineering, Pune. |
