PUNE: The stage is set for the musical mega-event ‘Antarnaad,’ being organised by Art of Living (AoL) at the S P College ground on Tuesday evening.

Over 2,600 classical singers from across the country would lend their voice in one go, in an attempt to create a world record. The first-ever grand symphony would be directed by stalwarts like Shankar Mahadevan, Chitra Roy and Pt Rajan and Sajan Mishra.

The singers would unfold various aspects of Indian culture through musical compositions. The event will conclude with the collective rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by all those present, including the estimated one-lakh strong audience.

The AoL founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will inaugurate the event. Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi will be felicitated by him on the occasion. Deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, home minister R R Patil, revenue minister Narayan Rane and national general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Gopinath Munde are also expected to be present for the evening.

The huge stage backdrop has been designed by Vivek Khatavkar, and the seating arrangement has been done in such a way that singers can be seen even from the last row, according to Vinayak Raskar of Miracle Events.
