PUNE: The BJP has demanded immediate suspension of a senior official with the health department of PMC, who was named in a suicide note left by a contract employee, alleging that she had subjected him to immense pressure to process his application for a permanent job with the department.

Dheeraj Ghate of BJP alleged that PMC did nothing to follow up the suicide of Atish Kamble with the police. “Had they done so, they would have discovered that Atish had named, Mandakani Kedari, as the one who allegedly forced him to commit suicide,” he added.

The BJP has now demanded that Keadari be immediately suspended from her services and PMC launch an inquiry into the entire issue. Atish had committed suicide in the PMC premises on December 31.
