PUNE: Four-term MP from Osmanabad Arvind Kamble (58), who was suffering from H1N1 infection, died in a private hospital here on Monday morning.
Kamble was elected to Lok Sabha from Osmanabad in 1984, 1989, 1991 and 1998. He was also a State minister in the early 80s.
The former MP, who had swine flu symptoms for the last two weeks, was admitted to a hospital in Latur and then shifted to Ruby Hall Clinic here on December 14. Kamble was on ventilator support for the past two weeks. His swab test had confirmed the H1N1 virus.
Kamble was not suffering from any other diseases, State health department sources have said. Kamble will be cremated at his native town Udgir on Tuesday. He is survived by wife, one son and two married daughters.
With Kamble’s death, the swine flu toll in the city has reached to 145.
Presently, there are 30 patients being treated in various hospitals in the city. Of them, nine patients are on ventilator support.
