PUNE: Two city-based school students have emerged winners in the city finals of  Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior Hunt, organised by Aviva Life Insurance and National Geographic Channel (NGC) as part of its quest for India’s brightest young minds.

The city finals, infused with a host of exciting activities, culminated with Nayanika Roy (11) of Std VI from City International and Rohan Jhunja (13) of Std VIII from Bishops School emerging as winners.

Both the students will represent Pune at the next level of the unique programme. Both young scholars have also won scholarships from Aviva Life Insurance.

The unique school engagement programme is the channel’s endeavour to extend its popular children’s block ‘Nat Geo Junior,’ on-ground to provide an intelligent platform for children to showcase their talent through a stimulating and invigorating learning experience.

In its third successful year, Nat Geo Junior Hunt reaffirms its credibility as it reaches out to over 400 reputed schools, targeting approximately 4 lakh children, aged between 10-14 years, across 14 cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Cochin and Patna).

The winners will now represent their respective cities at an adventure camp and only four out of these 20 city finalists will make it to the national finals.

The final four winners will receive further scholarships from Aviva Life Insurance and only one winner will get to host the Nat Geo Junior show for three months on the National Geographic Channel, along with a bouquet of prizes from other partners associated with the hunt.
